A Trip Down Memory Lane
This was a fun Timehop from memory lane the other day...we posted this as an announcement in 2014 that we were selling our FIRST home to buy our SECOND (and super special) next home. People thought it was a pregnancy announcement (but that didn't come for another 4 years).
Our first house was full of so much. We put an offer on it RIGHT before our engagement party at my mom’s house. When I walked in, holding the flyer and announced our contract; my mom almost shit her pants. To this day, she's annoyed I can't ever do one thing at a time.
We planned to "flip" this house...2 years MAX. Make some profit and we were outta there! Little did we know, the #greatrecession was brewing and we would soon be upside down $80K on this lovely bi-level (another thing we said we would NEVER buy again).
We flipped it throughout and it was lovely. We stayed there 10 years. Brought home two babies and loved our home. We built memories and a family there. When we first bought it as Newlyweds, we had a master, guest room, office and 'poker room'. HAHA! That is what 25 year olds do with a 4 bedroom house!
Alas, the 'Poker Room' turned into a nursery, the backyard became our oasis and we built the home of our (then) dreams. We quickly outgrew our "2 year flip" and sold it ten years later.
We had a water leak, the windows were original aluminum pane windows that would frost INSIDE anytime it rained or snowed outside, we tried our hand at a "pond" and killed 5 fish, twice. We learned SO much.
Thanks for the memory, Facebook. Walking down memory lane put a big smile on my face.
